Storytime Bookshop Launches $15,000 Crowdfunding Campaign to Expand Access to Books and Creative Literacy Programs
In this episode of Global Economic Press, Alex Brady discusses a heartwarming initiative by Storytime Bookshop, a children's bookstore in Kennewick, Washington. The bookstore has launched a $15,000 crowdfunding campaign through NuMarket to expand access to books and creative literacy programs in the Tri-Cities area and beyond. Founded by educator Lorelei Kennedy and creative partner Jason Keene, Storytime Bookshop has grown from a mobile pop-up to a 1,600-square-foot space offering diverse books, story times, and a book-themed photography studio. The campaign aims to support the expansion of the bookstore's programming and outreach to surrounding communities, ensuring that children, especially those in rural and underserved areas, have access to books and joyful learning experiences.
The crowdfunding campaign, in partnership with NuMarket and Main Street America, invites community members to contribute and receive 120 percent of their contribution back in store credit. This innovative funding model not only helps Storytime Bookshop grow but also keeps value within the local economy. Contributions will fund expanded outreach, school and library partnerships, free book programs, and interactive events. The campaign runs for 30 days starting April 23.
